Chinese Worker Stool

As the sun rose over Mount Taishan, farmers and local workers in Shandong would begin their days together. They would sit side by side on their wooden stools, measuring rice and washing grain. Each season, we return to these humble stools again and again because of their versatility, modesty and the stories they tell of China’s countryside. While each piece is made from elm wood and has been polished in a natural wax, you will never find any two Chinese worker’s stools that are exactly alike, which is exactly why we love them.
